Services Career Program
AF SERVICES CAREER PROGRAMS
The AF Services Career Program consists of three functional areas: the NAF Career Program, the Appropriated Fund (APF) Career Program, and the Palace Acquire (PAQ)/Management Trainee (MT) Program.
NAF CAREER PROGRAM
The objective of the Air Force (AF) Nonappropriated Fund (NAF) Services Career program is to provide a structured and centralized process of recruitment, development, training and referral of highly qualified personnel to meet the needs and requirements of the functional community. The Services NAF Career Program is designed to match the best-qualified candidate with the job requirements. The NAF Services Career Program deals with three areas of the civilian work force; the career executive force (those currently working in SVS Career Program-covered positions); the general work force (those eligible for referral to Career Program positions); and the Management Trainee (those in entry level, development positions managed by the Career Program). The Services Career Program is chartered by the Services Policy Council to identify, develop, employ and retain men and women with the skills necessary to satisfy current and future Air Force Requirements. AIR FORCE CIVILIAN INTERN PROGRAMS
he United States Air Force employs over 150,000 civilians in a full range of occupations, including financial management, information management, public affairs, engineering, computers/communications, sports/fitness recreation management, contracting, logistics, education, human resource management, child development, scientist, technical training, lodging management, community planning, architect, manpower management, safety, security, occupational health, family matters, history, and special investigation. Although the Air Force, along with other Department of Defense components, has experienced a period of downsizing to meet changes in the political, social, economic, technological, and demographic environment, the need to recruit and develop future leaders remains a top priority.

These programs provide full-time civilian employment opportunities for personal and professional growth in over 20 career fields with 2-4 years full-time on-the-job-training and performance-based annual promotions while in training. Entry level is normally GS-7 with target grades ranging from GS-9 to GS-12, depending on the occupation. U.S. citizenship and mobility are required.
